By highlight- ing ‘Tren’ (trenbolone), a substance known for its muscle-building efficiency yet detrimental health effects, the piece illustrates the paradox of advertising’s allure versus reality. 

The statement in the poster, while factually true, intentionally omits the harmful side effects of trenbolone, exemplifying how advertisements can manipulate perceptions by selective disclosure. This work aims to provoke critical thinking about the information we consume and the hidden truths in persuasive advertising.

In “Unsavory,” the duality of attraction and repulsion is explored through the juxtaposi- tion of two images that spell out the title. The upper image conceals within its appealing food textures an underlying tension, suggesting a critique of overindulgence and the hid- den consequences of consumption. The lower image is more direct, with the word “Unsa- vory” emerging from a splatter that evokes notions of decay, waste, or violence, perhaps challenging the viewer to reflect on the unsavory aspects of excess and the cost of appetite on a personal and societal level. The piece serves as a stark reminder that what is often deemed savory can, upon closer inspection, become unsavory.
